Description

Extendable dining table overview for B2B buyers

Dining furniture sells best when it adapts to the space it lands in. A compact apartment, a boutique hotel restaurant and a villa terrace all need seating that flexes between a small group and a full gathering. This table does that without losing its look. Closed, it presents a clean, rounded-rectangle top at a proportion that suits most dining rooms. Opened, the butterfly leaf adds a full panel of matching timber with no visible gap and no loose parts to misplace.

For wholesale buyers, the practical benefits are fewer SKUs per range, lower return rates from sizing mismatches, and a product that photographs well for catalogs and online listings. Browse the wider collection on our ARDENA product range to build matching dining sets, sideboards and seating.

Two-tone design and cabriole legs

A finish that bridges rustic and refined

The top is finished in a warm, natural teak tone that shows the grain. The apron and legs are finished in a deeper mahogany shade. This contrast gives the table depth without relying on heavy ornament, and it fits both rustic-modern and classic interiors. The look follows the rustic aesthetic of our existing studio photography, with soft grain, honest texture and a hand-rubbed sheen.

Cabriole legs with a sculpted profile

The cabriole leg is a long-standing furniture form, recognized by its gentle double curve that swells at the knee and tapers toward the foot. Our artisans shape each leg from solid timber, then sand it by hand so the curve stays smooth and consistent across a production run. The profile adds elegance, and the leg-to-apron joint is reinforced for the structural load of an extended top.

How the butterfly leaf works

A butterfly leaf is a folding extension panel stored inside the table. Pull the two halves of the top apart and the leaf rises from beneath on a hinged mechanism. Fold it flat, and the halves close back together. Nothing needs to be carried to a storage cupboard, which is a clear advantage in hotels, restaurants and short-stay rentals where staff turn tables over quickly.

Why buyers prefer the self-storing format

  • One person can extend or close the table in under a minute.
  • The leaf is cut from the same timber batch as the top, so grain and color stay matched.
  • No separate leaf means nothing to lose, damage or pack separately.
  • The slide rails are tested for repeated opening cycles before shipment.

Materials and craftsmanship

Every table is built in our Jepara workshop, where generations of carvers and joiners have shaped the region’s furniture tradition. We use kiln-dried teak for the top and leaf because of its natural oil content, dimensional stability and resistance to moisture. Mahogany is used for the legs and apron, where its fine, even grain takes carving and staining well. All timber is sourced under SVLK, Indonesia’s timber legality assurance system, so your customs and compliance teams get clear documentation for every shipment.

Joinery relies on mortise-and-tenon construction, glued and clamped, with corner blocks adding rigidity. Hardware is limited to the slide rails and leaf hinges, which are corrosion-treated for humid climates. Our quality team inspects each unit for moisture content, surface finish, leg alignment and leaf fit before it moves to packing.

Packing, loading and export documents

Each table ships with the legs detached and the top protected by foam corners, edge guards and a corrugated outer layer. This keeps the carved profiles and finish safe through long sea freight and helps you fit more units per container. Loading plans are prepared per order, and we can mix dining tables with chairs, benches and sideboards from the same range to fill a full container efficiently.

Export documentation includes the commercial invoice, packing list, SVLK legality documents and the bill of lading. Our team supports common Incoterms and can advise on fumigation or phytosanitary requirements for your destination market.

OEM and customization options

We work with distributors, designers and hospitality groups that need a specific look. Typical adjustments include:

  • Length and width changes to suit local room sizes or restaurant layouts.
  • Alternative stain pairings, from lighter oak-style tones to darker walnut shades.
  • Private-label branding, custom carton marks and barcode labels.
  • Matching chairs and benches to create a complete dining set.

Pre-production samples can be arranged so your team approves color, finish and leaf operation before the full run starts.

B2B FAQ

What is the minimum order quantity?

We supply on a container-load basis. Mixed-SKU containers are possible, so you can combine this table with chairs and other ARDENA pieces to reach a full 20 ft or 40 ft load. Contact us with your target volume and we will confirm a loading plan.

Can the finish and dimensions be customized?

Yes. Stain colors, top size, leaf length and branding can all be adapted. We recommend approving a pre-production sample first, so the finished product matches your market’s expectations exactly.

How do you handle timber compliance?

All teak and mahogany we use is sourced under SVLK, Indonesia’s legality verification system. Documentation accompanies each shipment, helping you meet import regulations and respond to retailer or project audit requests.
